Inihaw na pusit (Grilled Squid) Recipe

This recipe is a healthy food and most likely favorites of all the Filipino. But make sure the squid is fresh.

 Ingredients:

  • 1 kilo large fresh squid
  • 1 cup of Sprite for extra sweetness
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp calamansi juice
  • 1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 to 2 head ff onion, minced
  • 2 to 3 pcs tomatoes, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Procedure:

  1. Wash the squids well. Remove the long thin membrane in the head and slit the eyes to bring out the ink.
  2. Place the squids into a bowl. Mix all the ingredients and put inside the squids.
  3. Marinate for 1 to 2 hours. Prepare the grill pan and place a barbecue stick on your squid. Keep the marinade sauce.
  4. Prepare the fire. When the grill pan is ready, grill the squid and use the marinade sauce to baste the squid while it is being grilled.
  5. Do not overcook, it takes around 3 to 5 minutes only and always check the squid until its shows a few grill marks considering the squid is cooked.
  6. Served hot with sauce (soy sauce, calamansi and sili)
