Pork Sinigang Recipe
Cooking Information:
Estimated cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 3 lbs pork ribs, cut into 2 inch cubes
- 2 cloves, crushed
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 packet sinigang tamarind soup mix
- 15 cups of rice washing (hugas bigas)
- 3 pechay leaves
- 1 radish, chopped in thin round slices (optional)
- 1 small tomato, chop in half (optional)
- 2 small potatoes, cut into cubes (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon peppercorn (paminta)
Procedure
- Heat rice washing in a pot until boiling temperature
- Add pork ribs, tomato, onion and garlic
- Add salt and peppercorn (paminta)
- Boil for 5 to 10 minutes
- Add potato, radish and pechay
- Pour whole packet of sinigang tamarind soup mix
- Simmer for 2 minutes then serve

We order it regularly at several of the local restaurants. This recipe is just as good. I made it for the first time yesterday, I’m sure with a little ‘love’ I can make it better than the local restaurants’ recipes.
